About Kettlequill · Seaford, NY

a podcast with four thousand listeners is not a small stage. it is the right room.

Kettlequill is a podcast PR desk on Riverside Avenue. We place founders and executives on the industry shows their buyers listen to all the way through — the freight programmes, the practice-management hours, the compliance conversations — and we do the slow, written work that makes each forty minutes worth keeping.

The name, explained

why a kettle, and why a quill

The name is a working method more than a mascot. Good campaigns, like good tea, are steeped: they need heat, then time, then someone patient enough to leave them alone until they become something worth pouring.

And every word we send on your behalf is written — not merged into a template, not fired off in bulk — the way a letter of introduction used to be. A host can tell within a sentence whether a pitch was meant for them. Ours always are.

The kettle

weeks, not days

A campaign runs nine to thirteen weeks, because hosts book in seasons and buyers trust a voice they’ve heard more than once. It’s why our campaigns are named for steeping — short, full and long.

The quill

one host, one letter

Each pitch is composed for a single show. Every brief, bio and show-notes paragraph is drafted at the same desk and read aloud once before it leaves — if it doesn’t sound like you, it doesn’t go.

The house style guide

five marks we punctuate every campaign with

Most agencies keep a process deck. We keep a style guide — five pieces of punctuation pinned above the desk, each one a quiet promise about how your campaign will be handled.

  1. The open quoteyour words, not ours

Briefs are drafted in phrases you’d actually say aloud. If a line reads like a press release, it’s struck — hosts can hear rehearsed copy, and so can their listeners.

  2. The asteriskwe read the footnotes

Before a show reaches your shortlist we know its release cadence, whether the host edits, who sponsors it, and which job titles turn up in the comments. The fine print decides the fit.

  3. The slashcut where the thought ends

Promo clips are trimmed at the end of an idea, never at the end of a timer. Captioned, colour-matched, and delivered within seven days of each episode going live.

  4. The em dashleave room for the pause

Six conversations across thirteen weeks, not twelve in a month. A buyer should come across you twice and lean in — not find you on every feed at once and tune out.

  5. The question markthe one you hope they skip

Every brief names the question you’d rather not be asked, with a plain and honest way to answer it. Guests who’ve rehearsed the hard question sound relaxed on the easy ones.

On the record

the questions founders put to us, answered on tape

Condensed from the questions that come up on introductory calls, lightly edited. If yours isn’t here, it’s a fine reason to book thirty minutes.

    Founder

why only niche shows? wouldn’t a bigger audience be better?

    Kettlequill

Bigger is rarely closer. The person who signs your contract probably subscribes to two or three programmes about their trade, and listens to every minute. We would rather put you in that person’s ear for forty minutes than in a stranger’s for four.

  2. 04:18
    Founder

why a flat fee instead of a monthly invoice?

    Kettlequill

Monthly billing rewards activity. We’d rather be paid for something you can count — a host, a date, a recording. The figure is fixed before kickoff and doesn’t move if a booking took twice the pitching.

  3. 09:40
    Founder

    who actually writes the pitches?

    Kettlequill

The same desk that writes your brief and your media kit. One voice carries your story from the first letter to the host through to the show-notes paragraph, so nothing gets lost between hands.

  4. 14:05
    Founder

what happens once the episode airs?

    Kettlequill

Captioned clips arrive within seven days, cut for LinkedIn. On the full and long steep, an episode one-sheet follows — something your sales team can forward to a prospect with a single line of context.

  5. 19:52
    Founder

    why work from seaford?

    Kettlequill

The work is mostly listening, and listening wants a quiet room. The desk is on Riverside Avenue; the shows we pitch, and the founders we place, are wherever their industries happen to be.

The cutting-room floor

what we left out of the trade, on purpose

Every edit is a decision. These are the habits of podcast booking we chose, early and deliberately, not to keep.

  • paid placements dressed up as invitations

Instead — every booking is a host’s genuine yes. We never buy a guest slot on your behalf.

  • one email blasted to four hundred shows

Instead — a shortlist you approve, pitched one host at a time, in letters written for them.

  • billing by the pitch, or by the hour

Instead — a single fee, counted in interviews that actually happen.

  • promises about download numbers

Instead — an honest read on who each show reaches, and why that listener matters to you.

  • a brief recycled from the last client

Instead — two fresh pages for every recording, written around that host and that audience.

  • guaranteeing a particular show by name

Instead — we commit to your campaign’s count. Hosts choose their guests; we make the choice easy.
